Trending @Infosys; Development or testing?

Hi folks, I am into the testing domain(manual testing) in Infosys, I am not getting any interest. Which one is better to upskill in, is it Development or Automation. Can anyone suggest me. Thanks in advance.

I personally believe that if you select development, in any field/stream, in a longer run you will feel more comfortable with your skills and would also get a chance to test your applications by using one or another testing framework/tool.

Getting into dev from testing, takes a lot of hard work and struggle. Teams or organisations do not accept your developer skills directly. But the reverse (dev to testing) is not true, although you would be asked for some testing experience too.

But, at the same time, think of your interest also. How/Where do you see yourself in the coming years? Ask it to yourself!

And just to mention, I have experienced it personally. Previously I was in testing and then moved to development (Java Backend). I chose development as I find dev to be fun and enjoyable and not hectic or laborious.

If you want more money and more stress for development and if you want less money less stress go for automation

Based on your interest and skills, try to choose development, which you might feel tough now but for sure you will not regret in the upcoming future.
