Developer to product role.. is it worth?

I am a 11 years experience python and Java developer but not a super core developer. I was always interested in functional knowledge of the product and overall picture of the product. Somehow I wanted to experience product related roles now. Is it worth? I did perform stakeholder management operations support in my career.
