Detective work is the best part of being a data scientist

Recently, i noticed one of our production models wasn’t performing as well as everyone thought. after digging into prod metrics vs test set results, i uncovered some major blind spots (roc auc dropped from 0.99 to 0.88 in prod!). Sharing this and seeing people go 'wow' is what makes this job worth it for me. I love love love spending time in the trenches, looking at reports, uncovering anomalies. I'm a numbers guy.
