Trending @Accenture; Detailed Meaning of MAL, TAL, Sub level Finally Explained
I have seen countless people not knowing the meaning of these terms. Here is the detailed meaning of all the terms as per Accenture policy:
Months at Level ( MAL ) = Months since your joining date / months since last promotion + Experienced Hire Credit
( Experience Hire Credit is for example level 10 needs minimum 4 years work experience but you had 5 years and Joining at CL 10 then the additional 1 year or 12 months or 12 is your Experience Hire Credit )
TAL is only visible or greater than 0 on workday only for people on Non Pace or NPCE Career Progression model !
I still don’t know the difference between NonPace and Regular Pace ! I guess it depends on are you on fast track or not but not 100% sure!
Sublevels are mini promotions with very less hikes (mostly single digit ) between Career levels
Typically you start at sub level 3 then move to 2 (in 9 to 12 months depending on CL) and then move to 1 in same time it took from 3 to 2. Once you reach sub level 1 you are eligible for next level promotion!
So if you are hired at career level 10 and sub level 3. You will reach CL10 sublevel 2 in 1 year typically and sublevel 1 in another 1 year and you are then eligible for CL9 promotion!
Sublevels are only there for CL 13 to CL10. From CL9 you don’t have sub levels but the idea behind the promotion remains same that you need to wait atleast 2 years for next promotion!
Sublevels are removed from CL9 onwards so that they don’t get mini hikes during Sublevel movement as CL 9 are earning significantly more than CL 10 to CL 13 already !
Now when you actually get promoted depends on your managers and project leadership and things like are you in good books with the leads or not, office politics, favouritism, HR budget etc. Hope this helps 🙂

NPCE -Non Pace is basically all the ATCI employees where we dont skip any level and go from 12 -11-10-9-8 etc
Pace - Accenture Strategy/Consultants where they skip a level..like they get hired at level 11 and then directly become TL or level 9 then directly manager level 7

A pretty good explanation, thanks brother!

TAL = Time at Level or the productive time they employee has spent on certain Career Level ( in months ) minus the LOA( Leave or Absence)
For most employees TAL value is 0 or not visible on workday as it is only visible for people on Regular pace career progression model and not Non Pace or NPCE
