Deloitte USI : Application on hold!

I answered final round (VP) round of Delloite last week and received feedback from HR that my application is on hold when I mailed her about my application. Does that mean I’m not selected? I’m worried as I already cleared like 3+ rounds here. Can someone please share some insight?

They would've selected someone else for the role and want to keep you as a backup in case the other guy does not join

I was expecting to get a rejection mail in case if it was already filled in. I did not receive that as well, so I got confused.
