Delay in Early Release Despite HR Assurance

Hi everyone, I wanted to get some thoughts from you all. I recently put in my resignation since I’m currently on the bench. When I spoke to my HR, she initially said that I would get an early release. But now, it’s been a while and there’s no update from her side. I followed up a couple of times, and she just keeps saying they are waiting for approval.

Has anyone faced something similar? What could be the reason for the delay in releasing someone from the bench? Is there anything I should be doing from my end to speed up the process?
