Trending @Infosys; Decision - Resign or PIP?

Hey All,

I’m going to have meeting with HR regarding PIP next week. There I need to take decision whether I have to resign and take 4 months pay or whether I have to go with PIP plan and perform certain tasks for 2 months what they will decide and evaluate. I’m a bit confused what option should I need to opt. I’m looking for jobs but didn’t receive any calls till now but I’m actively applying.

From many people I’ve heard that in PIP they are giving hard to achieve tasks and pressurising to resign else if got fail in PIP, they will terminate and will give termination letter instead of relieving letter. What option should I opt , considering all the possibilities and current market situation?

P.S - I have 2 YOE in front end development

Suggestions from experience would be highly appreciated and can help me.

check with your manager regarding goals before accepting PIP. If it’s achievable say ok or don’t accept

They have kept me on bench . So I don’t have any manager, just a bench manager and she is not responding to any of my text. She is just saying that I need to talk to HR

If you are in bench, better resign and take 4 months salary. Goals will be difficult to achieve for bench ppl.

Take the PIP and start applying. You ll have sometime before resignation. Do the tasks as best as you can. If you get a job or an offer in the meantime while PIP is going on then resign. Otherwise you ll atleast get 4 months salary right? You ll have sometime to look for a job as well.. keep your options open.

Due to market situation keep your options open.

The cons are if I choose to go with PIP and if I fail achieving the task then they will terminate me and give termination letter instead of experience letter. Plus no grievance pay(3 months salary) will be given.

Resign. If you're confident you can get another job.

I’m confident but considering current market situation and my work experience. I’m a bit doubtful what to do

then you're not confident I feel, here's the scenario, either take 4 month's fodder and explore options. or go for PIP where your options are reserved.

Go for PIP and start looking for job outside. Don’t resign.

What if the task they give are hard to complete in that time frame and I fail in PIP?

Be confident. They will inform you that these are the topics. You can guess difficulty.

I got NI rating for last cycle and reasons are unknown, after that came into a critical project and worked my ass off. Got released in march due to downsizing as the project to completed. I also have positive feedback mail from my manager.
