Cyber scams in India are no longer “rare incidents"

UPI reversal calls, fake bank KYC links, WhatsApp “boss” messages asking for urgent transfers, courier frauds, and now AI voice cloning. These scams are hitting normal people every day. Most attacks succeed for one reason. Urgency. No bank asks for OTPs. No police asks for payments on call. No company asks you to install screen sharing apps. Think first. Pause. Verify. If something feels wrong, it probably is. And if a mistake happens, report immediately. Speed matters more than shame. Cyber safety is no longer optional. Awareness and quick action are the only real defenses.

Looks like govt is considering it as economic activity. No govt in any country will tolerate this harakiri against people but in India surely politicians would be benefiting from it. India has great armed forces to teach foreign enemies a lesson but nothing to tackle these internal enemies who destroy too many lives daily. Such a shame that Vishwguru is in the rock bottom of human experience.

Cyber fraud has become an ecosystem problem. Technology, regulation, enforcement, and user awareness all play a role. Targeting one stakeholder alone won’t solve something this complex. @Intellectual

Also you can add things like digital arrest, dating scams, spoofing, Chinese money lending app extortions and many more. The common factor among these is telegram. The moment the govt mandates to link aadhar card while opening any social media account most of these will be resolved.

Blaming one app is convenient, but scams move wherever friction is lowest. Shut down Telegram today, they’ll migrate to another app tomorrow.

Cybercrime isn’t tied to nationality. It’s driven by greed, opportunity, anonymity, and weak controls.

Adding one more point: the first 2–3 hours are the golden window in cyber fraud cases where police can trace the accounts and money quickly. Scammers know this, which is why they create panic and try to delay reporting. Acting fast really matters.
