Current company blackmailing me

Hi guys I've been working in this company for last 3 years and got a better offer, but due to client issues regarding them not wanting other employee than me, they threatened me to sabotage my background verification process after service notice and make sure my career doesn't run smoothly. What should I even do now, i don't have any proof of this because it is all verbal Need urget guidance on this as soon as possible Thank you 🙏🏻

Background verification is basically confirming you are who you say you are to the company. Mainly checks your residential address and PF account for your relieving date and previous company name. Just make sure the PF account has the same closing date as your last working day. That should be fine.

Is this really all?

Name the company so that we all will be aware and it will be helpful for future employees

He/she can’t name company until he is out of the company. If company is small and someone(HR/Manager) from his company reads this post on grapevine might identify the person and will cause more trouble.

Yeah that makes sense ..once he/she is leaving the company must reveal here the company name so that we will be alert.

first please name and shame the company here once you leave the company....

Your manager contact details are also asked generally in BGC....if they ask for the same, you may inform new employer about threats and highlight your concerns about BGC....

Nothing to worry, In BGV, ur previous work experience with employer only verified through salary slips, PF account last working date and some times through email, even in email they are not validating your conduct (like Bonafide certificate in schools) like how good were you with ur previous boss and your work accomplishments. No company cares about your previous experience with your previous employer on your attitude. Which is supposedly validated in your interview rounds. Everyone knows, In every relationship , after breakup or termination or divorce, every entity or individual mentions that other party is not good. So don't worry, In BGV no one is checking ur performance or conduct, it's just verifying whether you worked at your previous employers as you mentioned in your resume and salary slips. You can even go to labour department or civil court if they threaten you. Nothing to worry, it's just stupid and the worst tactic to create fear in you and work for them on their terms.

They cannot sabotage your BGV, since if they mention you didn't work for them, you have proof of PF account with them, it's stupid tactic played by them, even if that stupid played such tactic in BGV, that company would face hefty penalty and reputation damage in court, No mindful person would do such stupid acts, just record their verbal threats

These comments are not entirely right. Form given by bgv company is factual - but if in response, if the ex employer fills the form but provides negative feedback in the email in addition to the form, that gets noted and can result in a failed report.

Experience: I work in a bgv company

Don't worry...we guys are not slave ...right? Great if you answer that correctly in your mind then below is thought

  • nobody can sabrotage this

  • whoever is telling that tell him/her you have leagal door open and as well as labour unions from your region. Give them back that u will report to these state unions. If those idots have teeths so do we as well...just show some guts.

  • appraise the recruiter about his openly and seek his/her guidance as well.

  • you can play further a master stroke - if your client is so found of you then ask your client to either hire you , if there is contract issue then ask your client to hire you via another company as contractor and earn more bro

You better ruin that guy’s career first. Tag the company and the person on LinkedIn who threatened you.

Update on this matter When I confronted the issue with HR then she started playing victim that there is no one she can trust to hire and all But in the end when i asked for my last working day mail, she stated some labour laws and now she's trying to sodomise my offer by giving me 90 days notice, but our company's official notice period is 60 days. Should I mail our CEO on this issue and ask any solution from him? Because that seems to be the only case left for me If any lawyers can guide me about the labour laws then we can connect
Thank you
