Crying in office

Is it unprofessional to cry in office?

Context - Have an anxiety disorder that my office folks knew about, had asked them for support (which was promised) but broke down in the middle of a one on one with my manager who then proceeded to tell me how unprofessional it is to cry and asked me to use the tissues in front of me. I felt he was unkind and unempathetic, but maybe my expectations are unrealistic and I was being unprofessional? I'm dying of embarassment since.

Yes, unprofessional pro max
Fuck no, boss is a douche

Hey. First off, so sorry that you had to go through that and I hope you are feeling better.
It's completely alright to cry. Especially when you had already informed your employer about the condition, the least expected is empathy.

I need you to understand this is nothing to be embarrassed about. It's completely natural and human. Your employer should have practiced at least compassion with you.

I work with a huge team. I have people who suffer from chronic anxiety. There are times where they feel overwhelmed during meetings, we have taken the time to allow them the safe space to be vulnerable(if is possible) or to get out of that meeting until they can compose themselves, whichever works for them, no questions asked.
This is enabled them to be empowered and created the trust that they can bring their original selves to work.

Please don't feel you are alone in this. You aren't. I hope you feel wayyy better pretty soon!
Take care!

Kya chutya aadmi hai tera boss, start looking out. Crying is professional, you're a human, one who went with vulnerability and told them about you and got backstabbed.

Sorry you had to face this.

It’s a workplace for humans and it should be human. Otherwise it sucks

Haven't seen any poll this equally split.. Literally no majority.. Imo.. Workplace is not a place for emotions.. Some manage to sneak in just because we are human.. But don't expect a lot of sympathy.. People have their own shit to deal with, always understand that first before expecting empathy

Try to be positive, whatever happened in the past let it be. Try to be mentally strong slowly, but inch by inch works towards it. You were not unprofessional it's ok he should have understood. It's not your fault.

Try to be physically fit,it'll help you mentally
