Credit caard bill

I received a Standard Chartered credit card about a year ago. When I applied for the card, the representative said it was an LFT (Lifetime Free) card. However, after receiving it, I noticed there was a yearly charge mentioned, so I didn’t activate the card. But now I’ve received a bill stating an annual fee.

Can this bill be waived? Will I be charged even if I didn’t activate the card?

You should've closed it before; you can try talking to customer care, they could waive it
