CPA/CFA for an ERP Tech Consultant

Hi guys, good day!

I'm currently working as an ERP Tech Consultant for about 4 yours in the financials domain; currently at EY.

I come from an engineering background. Although I have 0 knowledge about accounting/finance, I have gained some decent knowledge about the basic processes like O2C, P2P, R2R etc.

Lately I have become interested in accounting. Have started learning basic accounting through Coursera.

Would pursuing something like CPA/CFA be beneficial to my career? Possible career options? Finance Transformation and similar roles? Exit options?

Basically I want to make big money : ( , would sell my body and soul to corporate for it.

Unfortunately due to home loan EMIs, I can't pursue a full time MBA. Online MBA seems to be useless(and frowned upon), based on my research and feedback.

So my only other option is doing something like CPA/CFA/CMA. Ignoring the toughness of these exams, will I be making the right decision in my career if I choose to get certified?

I want to be the middleman between finance and technology. Designing and improving the financial processes, automating stuff, etc.

I need some career counselling, wouldn't mind paying for it.

Thank you!

Go for CPA from some agency like Miles or Simandhar. It will be sponsored by EY but they will sign a bond for 3 yrs I think. Get in touch with your Talent team and know the policies.

Actually after looking at all the courses, CMA by ICMAI has the most number of subjects that I benefit from. What do you think of CМА?

CPA/CMA is more helpful, but i dont think ROI is so great. CFA will not help your career as ERP consultant, pursue only if you want to change career Try reading about CIMA instead, great fusion of Finance and MBA, easy to clear, very well designed. Great value in US/UK

Thanks for your answer. I don't really want to stay in ERP as well. Would like to move out of it tbh. What options do I have? : )
