Counter offer advice

Hi All,

I have an offer from cognizant 21LPA (20.3L fixed + 70k variable) and counter offer I will be receiving tomorrow from Conduent i.e 21.5 LPA Full Fixed.

How much can I ask for Cognizant to revise and will they revise with in 2-3 working days as my joining date with cognizant is 22-May-2025 ?

Your valuable advice is appreciated.

YOE : 8.4 GCP Data Engineer role.

Thank you!

don't tell cognizant ctc initially. tell them u gave an offer and ask for like 50-60% more. later they may ask for offer, try to delay that request. well it's india & candidates are abundant so u will have to share offer letter eventually (considering it's cogni). at that time they will say u r asking a lot. bargain for 30% more which is why initial 50-60 more you should say

But without counter offer cognizant will not entertain to revise, Can I ask for more then counter offer? Or ask them to match the counter offer ?

you should ask more than counter offer. they will decide to match or to give more. HRs are cheap, most probably they will match only

also it's very late to renegotiate, just 1 week before joining. there are chances they won't budge or rescind offer. anyways u have another offer. so either they may give very big amount like 50% more or rescind offer

I don't think cognizant will rescind the offer, did it happen anytime in past?

I can just ask for revision and then it upto the HR to revise it or not
