Could have been a millionaire by Now but Managing Money was out of my Skillset ✖️

In 2016, I started a website related to cricket, which organically gained over 1 million+ impressions per month—without spending a single penny on ads.

Before that, I ran a Virat Kohli fan page on Facebook with over a million followers. Unfortunately, monetization options were limited at the time. One day, the page vanished overnight due to Facebook’s policy changes, merging most fan pages into the official one.

During the IPL, the website’s traffic doubled. Fantasy cricket was booming, and my site was gaining a strong user base. Watching the numbers grow was exhilarating.

I decided to monetize through Google AdSense, earning $300–$400 per month organically in the first year—enough to enjoy college life comfortably.

Then, an app called Helo reached out, offering me ₹30K/month just to post cricket updates. They promised boosted reach at no cost. It was an easy win until the app got banned during India's TikTok crackdown.

By then, I had networked with a few people making $6K–$10K per month through AdSense. Curious about their strategy, I partnered with someone who optimized my site, significantly increasing traffic. We started earning $2K per month (split 50:50). Things went great for three months—until AdSense was disabled, bringing me back to zero.

Exploring BTC

At the same time, I decided to invest some of my earnings, adding BTC to my portfolio in early 2018. Life was fun—branded clothes, clubs, and experiences.

With SEO getting tougher, I tried launching an AI marketplace for digital tools, but it barely took off. I bought the domain, pitched the idea to friends, but without a team, it was impossible to sustain.

The Crypto Gamble

Then came the DOGE rally. Inspired by Elon Musk’s tweets, I went all in at ₹2.05 per DOGE, watching it soar to ₹46—but I sold too early. I reinvested the profits in random coins, which never took off, wiping out my gains.

Eventually, I joined an MNC, then transitioned to a startup. Looking back, if I had learned proper fund management, I’d probably have a solid financial cushion today.

Opportunities are everywhere. The past had its wins and losses, but I’m optimistic about the future.

This time, I hope to make it big.
