So I'm trying to figure out what's a fair rate for a cook. It's for a family of four people approx, with two meals a day. I'm wondering what others are paying for something similar. Just trying to get a general idea of the market.

Totally depends on your area or your society. Normally, they charge 2-2.5k per person to bachelors. For a family, it might be a bit less.
