If you have been talking to someone for some time now and you want to find out whether that person actually likes/care about you or are they just going with the flow?
then just pretend to be sick or mood off for one day, be vague about the reasons behind your behaviour. The way that person texts/call you and the way that person handles you that day would tell you more than enough.
If that person is busy talking to others or is not interested in you, they won't care much about how you feel, they won't try to help you, you will get your answer.
Although it's not that straightforward, you are smart enough to figure it out.
PS: don't try to take advantage of their emotions though, it's a sensitive topic, don't be an as*hole.

Try doing this multiple times actually, then see who sticks around.
