Contract Vs full time

I see the hiring has also changed in terms of direct hire vs hiring someone as contract from a different company.

Recently i have set open to open on Naukri and 90% of the recruiters were hiring as Contingent , Your pay-role will be of different company and you will be working for some other company.

How someone grow in career as a Contingent employee?

To all the experienced folks out there what’s your point of view on this?
