Contract Applied Scientist role at Microsoft.
I'm in the process of interviewing for a contract-based role at Microsoft, Bangalore as an Applied Scientist. I'll be reporting to a manger in the US. I was reached out by a hiring firm who are going to manage the payroll for this role. Upon asking for clarification, they told me that I'll be working in Microsoft's office and I can put Microsoft on my resume. Tbf, the entire thing seems very fishy, especially the payroll being managed by this hiring firm.
If anyone has an experience working in a similar role, would love to know how's the experience. Is it bad for your career? What outcomes to expect out of this role.
My Background: 2yoe as DS. Top 7 IIT grad. Working in a really really toxic startup right now so I'm very desperate to leave.
The compensation offered in the contract is very close to my current compensation but I'm okay with it as I got a huge hike just 2 months back when I switched to the current startup.

These are consultancy companies without any dedicated office (may be shared space office), which have hardly 500-1000 employees, all tagged to just 2-3 major organisations like Microsoft, Google etc. If that project gets over, or there is rampdown, your job is over. They have zero policies, zero work ethics, they are purely body shopping firms. So you can imagine what will happen. Go at your own risk.

Had half-expected this. Thanks for sharing your view!
