Trending @Infosys; Continue IT or family business?

I have worked in IT for 3 years now 4.5 LPA. Father is suggesting I take over the family business. It's already a good running store(badminton shop) and if I'm quitting will start a badminton court too. Right now as most people I too hate my job. And I'm interested in business too. So shall I go for it without any second thoughts? Or am I missing huge opportunity in IT?

If you've spent three years in an IT tech company, why are you considering returning to your family business? Your three years of experience can help you secure better opportunities and grow faster than your family business could offer. Family businesses often require more time commitment compared to IT tech jobs. IT tech jobs typically have a 5-day workweek, while family businesses often involve 7-day workweeks, demanding more effort and potentially yielding less profit. Additionally, IT tech jobs can help maintain your social status. Even if you were to lose your job in the future, your family business could still be a fallback option. Therefore, I suggest maintaining your current position.

I will suggest doing both, if you have bandwidth . Don’t waste your evening and spend time with your dad in the shop. With your job, you can earn a steady income and contribute to your family income . I have been doing the same for last many years . I have a family liquor shop which earns me good in addition to my Infosys job .
