Contemplating joining Myntra as tech lead
I'm currently working at a startup that isn't doing very well and has probably 3-4 months of runway left. I have an offer from Myntra as tech lead for the search team, I think the value that this team delivers is good, however, it'll probably be a stepdown for me in terms of both comp (~10%), brand & learning.
The upside with Myntra is that it's an Indian company, primary revenue from India so less geopolitical risk.
Not sure if I should take this offer, or stay put and look for better opportunities.

I worked at Myntra and I'd say I enjoyed my time alot there. You'll learn alot and perks are also good.
Thanks, can you share what the general hike and refreshers look like?
I was there for 2 appraisals.
- Hike was good with good refreshers.
- Second year hike was not good. A mere 1.5 percent. Everyone got in that range. Refreshers were also not given. But one time stocks were given with immediate vesting date.
As per my knowledge they stopped giving refreshers. But I'm not aware about bikes during these days. Better to connect with someone who is still working there. As I left 1.5 years back.
In general , any FK group company is a great brand to have ! Search is a great evolving area especially with GenAI coming in . It can be a hustle at times , but worth it ! This is a very profitable company with great culture and stability and I think you should go for it

Depends on financial runway If it's good and you're okay with a break - don't jump on it, if not excited
However, if there's even an ounce of possibility you might not do well with a break in paychecks - then do it and then look out again
- Myntra is a decent brand. And offers much more stability than your present situation. So, compensation and learning take a backseat here.
- Myntra isn’t an Indian company anymore. It’s owned by Walmart since last few years.
You can accept offer from Myntra and keep looking for others till your joining date.

My past collaboration experience with folks from Myntra says that it is worth giving a shot. If you are coming in from outside India, it might seem more difficult for you, but 1-2 years of experience in Myntra will be good for you. If you think you are overqualified, you will make a bigger impact there, exceeding the company's expectations, which is beneficial for you if you like to stay and get promoted to EM.
