When you consult more that's the path of architect as well, I'm also following the same.

I believe in tech streams in infosys technology it’s Architect -> consultant(tech/functional) -> managers. But Infosys consulting which is outside Infosys technology pays higher . But skill set needed there is slightly different and they prefer MBAs

If you are a hands on solution or enterprise architect, bargaining power is much higher. Consulting is a niche job which pays well but not much bargaining power
