Consultancy or Software Development?

I have two offers from leading brands. I am a fresher with few internships. I am inclined towards working in product based companies and implement my technical skills to solve real world problems.

I have two offers and currently unable to decide, which one to go ahead with. The momentary compensation is somewhat comparable.

I am unsure about how it goes as a consultant, few years down the lane if I plan to switch to some tech based role.

My apprehensions with the unicorn startup, is the uncertainty of job. If you all can please share your opinion. Thanks

Former MBB consultant here, strongly suggest that you do engineering at this point in your career. Build a core skill set (believe me it’s indispensable) and then if you want to switch later to a generalist role like consulting, you can do it anyway but not the other way around.

Also, point blank: non MBB consulting roles are not worth your time, they are just cheap copies of MBB roles, no matter how much they make it sound like the real deal.

I had this in my mind, if I wanted to switch to technical consulting few years down the lane, would it make sense if I start my career with that only.

Your pov regarding this helps a lot. Thanks. Also it is not an MBB offer.

honestly, that would depend on your bachelor's college, share that & i could perfectly tell you the optimal path 5 years down the line, was at this position from the start of my career
