I am currently working at an TCS and planning to switch jobs. Is it okay to apply to the client company I’m currently working with? Can I ask a colleague in that client company for a referral? My client company offers full remote work and has less work pressure, making me feel comfortable, but the pay is lower.

Ideally TCS clients has non compete in contract. So you wont be able to join the client directly. It can be at least 6 months to 2 years. You can change project in TCS and after working for cool off period resign and switch.

Switching to a client company is possible, but check any non-compete clauses. You can ask for a referral, but be discreet. Lower pay vs comfort is your call.
