Hey Everyone, so recently I gotta offer from Razorpay with the title Sde in Data Org team also in interview invites it had a heading of sde only but today Hr scheduled a buddy connect with a data engineer (as looked in his linkedin profile) So I'm kinda confused what actually my post is. Will they give me a data Engineer role and if yes will it be worth it ...as I'm interested more in backend part. And if they give data engineer role how should I communicate with the hr? Like I'm really confused if somebody can help?
You have to ask before joining
There is. Huge diff between a back end role and a data engineering role esp at razorpay. This should not be anything the HR should speak to you, who was your HM? Speak to him or one of the senior leaders and call out that you are not interested. The data engineering roles are very limited in scale and exposure. The leadership has been pushing data robot and other stuff too hard. Adoption has been weak so this role might just be about setting up pipelines and other stuff which is not very deep work.
Clarify this with HR before joining to avoid any issues later, sde and data engg are quite different roles You should pass this if you are not getting the expected role

I came across this role of Product Development Engineer for which the JD has everything an SDE does. Recruiter told that it is not exactly SDE. Also they pay like peanuts for 2YoE. Something like 11L. What's going on there peeps?
