Confused about allocation

I got a temporary allocation from 1 Jan to 12 Jan for client evaluation but customer doesn't selected me and the person with whom I was in contact she told me that I would be released from this project and i released. But today when I report to RMG they are saying you have allocation and same I have checked yes I have allocation from 20 jan to 26 feb ..so I am confused what is this? I have checked with the project person she told me that we have released you. Anyone faces such scenario
