Confused- stock or higher base salary

Hi, When you receive an offer is it better to negotiate on stocks or higher base salary? Negotiating higher base salary is selling more difficult. Advice pls

Just see the market trend and check if there is any chance stock will grow over years.

Also check the vesting period and whether you plan to stick around that long.
