What happens if a manager doesn't take any action on a lateral employee's probation confirmation even after 6 months completion ? Will the employee be confirmed?

Generally Manager will receive mail for confirming the employee, if they not confirming then the probation period will get extended after the buffer period

No, just ask manager to check on it and send mail if they are not responding on one to one

Nope he won’t be auto confirmed. But HR and eventually the DM will pester him to either confirm or extend the date. So one of it will happen on or before due date else it will get escalated higher than DM
