Trending @Accenture; Concerns Around Transparency, Merit-Based Selection, and Communication

Over the recent period, I have observed a significant increase in role changes, promotions, and staffing decisions that do not always appear to follow transparent or consistently merit-based criteria. This has created uncertainty among senior team members and impacted overall morale.

In some client-facing decisions, there is a growing perception that selection is influenced by regional familiarity rather than skill alignment or experience. Even when unintentional, this perception risks excluding capable talent and undermines Accenture’s core values of inclusion and fairness.

Additionally, communication and project narratives often appear to be selectively framed, with limited representation of alternate perspectives or on-ground realities. This limits transparency, reduces trust, and makes it difficult for teams to have an accurate understanding of decision drivers and performance.

Frequent internal politics, coupled with controlled messaging, has shifted focus away from delivery excellence toward perception management. This environment makes it challenging for experienced professionals to contribute optimally and plan their career paths with confidence.

Strengthening objective, skill-based decision-making, improving transparency in role and promotion criteria, and encouraging open, balanced communication would significantly enhance trust, engagement, and long-term retention of senior talent.
