Company and domain switch

I've been into TCS for few months, and as a fresher i had the doubt that if we want to switch to another company, supoose after 1 or 2 year, then if the company that i am willing to switch requires another tech stack that i am interested in which is data science and also have done some courses in the same. But currently I've been allocated to SAP project which will lead me to get experience in the same. So will they say that I've no experience in data science or will they still consider me as a candidate? Or should i fake my experience saying project contained some data processing and related tasks as in data science? Can anyone share their experiences or suggestions while switching from one domain to another domain?
