Comfort my foot

read this post where a recruiter wrote - "This message is to all my candidates who are not comfortable. It is not about whether you are comfortable or i am comfortable. It is not about comfort, it is about the process. Without knowing your current CTC(what is the value you have and what you would bring on XYZ's expected CTC), as a Recruiter, I have to share these details with my clients and it is very crucial to say yes or no before moving for the next process. Easy example without knowing the current price of the T-shirt which is listed on any e-commerce platform, would you buy it?"

And my counter to this one is simple - the process is a joke - gate kept well to know orgs win - PERIOD. Let me ask this - Would you pay a candidate top bracket even if he/she asked for less and you had the range? No? Thought so. This isn’t about transparency - it’s about control. Let’s stop pretending otherwise.

Current and expected CTC

Recruiters always ask for your current compensation which is technically 'confidential'

It's unfair for you to disclose your compensation without getting something in return.

Let's CHANGE the tone of these conversations.
