Cognizant consulting offer issue
I was interviewed by cognizant healthcare 3 months back through 4 rounds and finally HR sent an email for document submission followed by telephonic call for salary discussion. Considering my 17yrs of experience before, HR considered me for senior manager role and now in telephonic discussion she said, she can office more CTC but position as senior consultant only which is 2 levels below the senior manager.
Offcours I relied and request her to have transparency and with respect to what was discussed earlier. She said she will come Back to me but still waiting for the response.
Is this usual at such senior level as well? Or it happens with cognizant consulting only.

Please don’t accept anything less than senior manager. Promotions are hard to come by and they’ll ensure you get no major hike, essentially negating your higher pay. Trust me on this, you’re better off elsewhere. I’d request you to look for other opportunities. There’s nothing more suffocating than a dead end role.
