Clarification Required on Promotion Window C3A to C3B – FY Status & Governance
Hello all,
I am seeking clear and official clarification regarding the promotion window for C3A to C3B for the current financial year.
There seems to be conflicting communication from different stakeholders:
One manager indicates that the promotion process will be initiated
Another manager says the window is not open
HR mentions it will be handled by the project team
Corporate communication suggests that promotions are stopped for this FY
This inconsistency is creating confusion among associates and impacting morale.
Additionally, I would like to understand the project team structure rationale. In our team, there are:
A high number of C3B associates
Very few C3A / lower-grade associates
This raises questions on:
Whether this is the intended and optimal project management structure
How billing, role distribution, and growth opportunities are being aligned
Where the budget allocation and billing margins are being utilized, especially when promotions are deferred
Associates are not questioning leadership decisions, but we do expect transparent communication, fair growth opportunities, and consistent policy implementation across projects.
Requesting HR / Corporate / Program Governance to please provide:
Official status of C3A → C3B promotions for this FY
Clear ownership of promotion initiation (HR vs Project vs Corporate)
Guidelines on project team grade composition and career progression
Transparency on these points will help restore confidence and align associates with organizational goals.
Regards,

Bhai kyun kulhadi pe par mar raha hai. C3A is good.

Even if promotion happens, try to calculate the salary increment and subsequent salary loss due to less variable compensation than C3A. If you feel it's worth it, then only try it else stay put at C3A

One of my friend says he is regretting taking promotion due to this same thing

Forget any hikes or promotions in tcs

Why don't take it.. if u r C3B, what are the difficulties u r facing duet to higher grade?

DO NOT TAKE IT ...
