Choosing job designation

Consultants generally don't make as much money. Principle engineer and architect is more or less the same role. Just different names in different companies.
What does best for higher salary even mean. Even sde2 can make above 40 in some companies, don't aim for a role aim for a tier of company. Role will fall into place based on your experience and background
