There are good female managers and bad male Managers. But the odds of landing a good female manager is very difficult.

Hi, I’m a Software Developer with 2 years of experience, currently working at a startup. I’m looking for a job switch to a good organization. If anyone can refer me or help with opportunities, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Always had terrible experiences with female managers. In my experience they have this unnecessary need to over compensate/dominate which comes off very aggressive, I get where they might be coming from, but it just doesn't create a healthy environment. Not to say that male managers don't do the same, but the ratio is less.

I have always had bad experiences with female managers. I would always prefer male managers, at least they will not behave so dominantly and bring so many xyz factors into everything. I am not saying all male managers are good but there is at least hope and better probability.

l've worked under 3 male managers and 2 female managers. Personally, I found the male managers easier to work with. The level of guidance and domain knowledge was similar across all of them, but my experience with the female managers was different in terms of work expectations. It felt like they had to work extremely hard to reach their positions, and as a result, they expected the same intensity from everyone often 12-15 hour workdays. I also noticed they were more reactive if something wasn't delivered on time or if missed a call.

Based purely on my personal experience and to avoid future stress, I would prefer working under a male manager

Buddy this is the similar problem many are facing

Not to generalise or anything from my experience I would always prefer male managers. Current manager is female and she works for 14-15 hours a day and man others are expected the same and a lot of other drama which i havent faced with any of the male managers. So yeah definitely male managers.

I don't see any point generalising. I've seen bad and good versions of both.

I agree we can't generalize. But somehow I don't know why women are excelling in unnecessary dominant people management. Sometimes they are not happy even if the 110 % result is given. Forget about appreciation.

Women in general are very impulsive and emotional… so male managers (albeit a$$holes) are better options!

Over my career, I’ve had good and bad managers of both genders, so can’t generalize like this.

Some people have better management & people skills, and others don't, irrespective of gender.
