Transition to PM role🧐
I am a Software Engineer(3-YOE) and want to transition to Product Management role.
Does the ISB PM certifications help us in any form for that or regular MBA is required to get the role.
How to change from current software engineer role to product manager role. How can I make this transition. Guidance please
To transition from Software Engineer to PM, focus on:
Learning SQL and analytics (data-driven decisions are key)
Improving critical thinking and decision-making (practice case studies)
Sharpening communication skills (stakeholder alignment is crucial)

Making the switch from software engineering to product management is definitely possible and many great PMs come from tech backgrounds. Start by getting involved in product conversations at your current company: understand user problems, think beyond code, and volunteer to drive features end-to-end if possible. Learn the basics of product thinking, prioritization, and metrics. It also helps to build side projects or contribute to internal tools where you can showcase ownership beyond engineering.
