Change in 2Office App Tracking – A Shift in Work Expectations?

Recently, I’ve noticed that the 2Office app has started calculating in-office hours, whereas earlier, it only tracked the card swipes at the location. This means that going forward, it might become mandatory to be physically present for 9 hours instead of just swiping in and out.

This change could have a significant impact on workplace flexibility and work-life balance. While it ensures transparency in attendance, it might also limit flexibility for employees who manage their tasks efficiently within a shorter duration.

Would love to hear your thoughts! How do you feel about this change?

I have no expectations from TCS, but I was just wondering if they are still considering a shift to the 25-25 model as they mentioned earlier. Given that there are now four time bands, they might classify anything under three hours as 25% office presence, three to five hours as 50%, and so on. They could then take an average to calculate the WFO Index. This indicates they might consider actual hours spent in the office rather than just swiping in and out.

but this is just an assumption.

The hypocrite management mentioned in 2020 that almost by 2025, 90% of the workforce will be working from home. Now we are counting hours.
