I think the best thing you can do is try connecting with the founder outside your normal schedule. Try going out for team dinner etc. I have personally witnessed that creating a rapo with the founder improves the kind of projects you start getting. Also, since you are in the founder's office position (like I am, in my current role), go and talk to people around the company and try solving bottlenecks.

Founders don't know what founders office people are supposed to do. In the best case the person figures out for himself how to add value, worst case he becomes a glorified errand boy, with a really f-ed up work life balance. And of course takes minutes.
