Centre Calls Manipur MLAs for Meeting Amid Ethnic Conflict

• The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has invited MLAs from Meitei, Kuki-Zo, and Naga communities in Manipur for a meeting.
• This comes after Home Minister Amit Shah's assurance of dialogue between Kuki-Zo and Meitei communities to resolve the ongoing conflict.
• However, no peace committees were formed or outreach conducted since the assurance.
• The outcome of this meeting will determine the participation of Kuki-Zo MLAs in the peace talks.
• The ethnic violence between Kuki-Zo and Meitei communities has resulted in 237 deaths and displacement of over 60,000 people since May 2023.
