One of my friends was expecting a promotion this quarter, but he didn't get it because his manager left the firm.

He worked super hard for two long years to get this promotion, but fate had some other plans. Just two weeks before his promotion document was to be presented to the committee, his manager resigned.

This twist of fate delayed his promotion to the next quarter or maybe even the one after that, depending on his new manager.

Yesterday evening, when he was feeling down about the news, he said, "Itta badluck kiska hota hai yaar?"

I looked him in the eye and said, "Atleast you have the chance to try again in three months or later. Think about the queen who got disqualified from the Olympics over just 100 grams and still faced it with a smile. If you think you're unlucky, remember Vinesh Phogat in the Paris Olympics."

Life isn't always fair, but time changes everything; all it takes is patience.
