Career Transition: Software Engineer → Product Manager

Hi everyone,

I’m exploring a transition from Software Engineering to Product Management. Over the past few years, I’ve gained hands-on experience in building scalable applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and understanding user needs from a technical perspective.

Now, I want to shift my focus from how products are built to why they are built and how they create impact.

I’m currently trying to figure out the right first step: 👉 Should I pursue a Product Management internship to get practical exposure? 👉 Or should I directly aim for an Associate Product Manager (APM) role given my background in engineering and problem-solving?
