Career Switch
I have been into TCS for the last 3 years, 1.5years on bench approx and 1.5 years doing some support work, I learnt React and Node but I don't have any handson, i want to switch but I don't have confidence that I can tackle 3 years of experience in IT, I want your Honest feedbacks and suggestion, TIME IS TICKING.
Without handson experience the interview will be really difficult. I'm not sure what you mean by learnt react and no handson. But I would suggest doing some projects on your own and preparing your resume as well in the meantime. Once you're confident enough then you can start giving the interviews. The other choice would be the digital exam. And to tackle issue with 3 years of your experience, you should at least be able to prove 1+ years of experience on the mentioned skill in the interview which you will require by continuous learning on your own.
I will be completing 1 year in June. Should I wait for 2 years before switching or I can start actively searching after a year?
@PuzzledObi1 why you want to wait for 2 years. Now is the time prepare and switch don't wait too long else after 2 years either you will be very comfortable not doing work and up skilling or you will find very very hard to switch. So better prepare and move asap
Build Projects, start by building Portfolio page using MERN. Then build some projects and add them to that page. After that you will be confident about handson, now you have to tailor your experience section by including MERN. And yes you can fake it as you get confidence in your skills. This happened with my colleague, he was in Ninja for 3 years and salary was around 4.8 LPA, he switched to a 10 LPA MERN stack job.
How salary you are getting present for 3 year's??

do some projects on your own for next 2-3 months observe and remember what you doing and gain confidence to speak lie that you have worked on this and this (whatever you done in your project) don't forget to prepare hard, interview for 3+ years of experience would be lot hard than you think, (No theorotical questions, you'll face scenario based questions be prepared fot that more than definitions)
Honestly, speaking , follow step by step
1.Start studying 2.Complete certification 3. Prepare and check test cases. 4. Practice practice practice on lab 5.Prepare for an interview with complete confidence and maintain eye contact.If u dont know the answer dont act smart . Accept politely that i am not aware of the answer or i dont recall. 6.Honesty and Soft skills play major role in cracking any interview of any field. 7.Once u cracked it please speak to hr in an interview and negotiate if possible.

Advice from another React developer: Study for a month and practise most asked questions both machine coding and theory. Apply for jobs is another WITCH company as they don't focus much on coding round. Get an offer and join that company. While you are working in that company focus on your skills as well and make side projects after work hours. As you already have 3 years experience in TCS it's important you switch now for salary growth.
