Career Prospects in Germany: Masters as VLSI Engineer vs. Masters in Engineering Management
Hi everyone,
I’m currently planning my higher studies in Germany and trying to decide between:
- A Master’s in VLSI / Microelectronics, and working as a VLSI engineer afterward.
- A Master’s in Engineering Management, and entering industry in a management/coordination role.
I’d love to hear from people with first-hand experience or solid insights about:
Job market demand for fresh graduates in each field.
Starting salary ranges and growth potential for VLSI engineers vs. engineering management graduates.
Ease of finding jobs as an international graduate (with little to no German initially, but planning to learn).
Industry hubs in Germany for each career path.
Typical career progression over the first 5 years.
Impact of language skills on getting hired and advancing in each domain.
Whether switching from a technical to a managerial role later is easier than the other way around.
Any personal stories, job-hunting tips, or insights into how the German work culture treats fresh graduates in these areas would be hugely valuable.
Thanks in advance!
