Career in KYC/AML

Hi I am working as an AML/KYC analyst for past one year. I am very much confused with respect to taking this as my future career because I am not able to see scope in this. Salary is peanuts and work is more. Not able to figure out if I am going on the right career path. Can anyone guide me to this particular domain wrt growth, salary and learning? I know comparison is the death of happiness but when chilling with buddies, it feels like I am the one struggling with role and the pay in comparison to their well paying jobs and different roles.
