Trending @Cognizant; Career improvement
I’ve been working at Cognizant for the past 8 years, currently in a Senior Associate role handling production support managing the team. While the journey has given me stability and valuable experience, I feel stuck. The project I’m in is hectic with very little work-life balance, and whenever I plan a switch, personal commitments (marriage, kid, responsibilities) hold me back. I earn 9 LPA, and sometimes I wonder if I’ve limited my growth by staying too long in the same role. I want to move into a better role where I can leverage my experience but also find more balance and career growth. Posting this as a confession because I know many in IT must be feeling the same — stuck between responsibilities, stability, and aspirations. If anyone has gone through a similar phase and successfully switched, I’d love to hear your guidance.

Now a days 2+ years exp people getting around 10 lpa in cts.
What ever may be the situation try to switch the company

Understand your situation. 9 LPA is very low for exp 8+ with family and other responsibilities. We have to take some risk here which will help your future goals.
- If you have a desire for an onsite opportunity, insist your manager and get it - Don't wait for long.
- If you don't want to go to an onsite, ask your manager to normalise your salary at least as per the current market.
- If you don't get above 1 or 2 then there is no point to stay here. You have to come out of the cushion, prepare interviews and move out. You may not be able to crack a few interviews first but don't lose your interest. Keep trying it , one day you will get it.
We are humans not machines, work life balance is more important for the meaning of life else there is no point in earning. Last but not least - money, health, family are more important than sacrifice, loyalty and good name at the office. Best of luck.
