I thought data science ( and scientists ) was a made up profession to make regular data analysts feel better about themselves. Too smart to be just another analyst. No PHD to become a scientist. Enter data science.
Joke aside , there’s no law for switching. Why do you want to switch ? Focus on the inner motivations. And remember more often than not switching is not in your control. They can lay you off.

Anything more than 2 years is considered to be good irrespective of the role if you start moving up you should probably stay longer
