Trending @Infosys; Career Dilemma: Staying vs Moving On

I’m about to complete 6 months at Infosys and in my current project, but I’m facing a dilemma. The work assigned to me doesn’t align with my core experience as an Azure Data Engineer; instead, it involves working with different Azure services like integration projects that don’t directly contribute to my existing skillset. With 6 years of total experience — including 3 years specifically in Azure Data Engineering — and currently at a CTC of 16 LPA on JL5 level, I’m concerned that staying in a role that doesn’t leverage or strengthen my expertise could hinder my long-term career growth. At the same time, I’m hesitant to switch companies too soon, as short tenures can raise red flags during interviews, and leaving before a year might limit my chances of securing a better salary hike. I’m trying to evaluate whether it’s wiser to stay and wait it out or start looking for opportunities more aligned with my career goals.
