
๐จ Career Dilemma โ Need Genuine Advice
Iโm at an important turning point in my career and would truly value some sincere guidance โ especially from seniors or experienced folks who can advise me like an elder brother or sister.
I have 3.9 years of experience as a Java Full Stack Developer.
Started at Accenture (11 months) in a support role, but since Iโve always been passionate about development, I made a switch.
Joined Infosys (2.9 years) where I got strong hands-on experience in Spring Boot and Angular.
Recently joined Optum (May 2025) with a 21 LPA fixed salary.
Now hereโs the situation:
While serving notice at Infosys, I was actively trying for a role at Goldman Sachs โ a company Iโve always aspired to work with. I even completed their HackerRank test during my notice period. Despite following up with HR, there was no response in time, and I joined Optum.
Now, one month into Optum, Iโve received a call from Goldman Sachs and HR informed that I cleared the HackerRank test โ theyโre ready to process my profile and the expected CTC is around 30โ35 LPA and they are positive.
My dilemma is: ๐ It's been just 1 month at Optum, and Iโm unsure if making a switch so soon would hurt my profile in the long run.
Iโm struggling to decide whether I should go ahead with this change or stay longer to avoid looking unstable as I already have one early switch at Accenture.
At the same time, this is a rare opportunity โ better pay, better brand, and better alignment with my long-term goals.
โ Would switching now be seen as irresponsible or strategic? โ Would taking this move be considered immature or smart career planning? ๐ฌ I would deeply appreciate advice โ not just from those whoโve been in this exact situation, but from any experienced professionals who can guide me like family.
