Career change

Hi everyone I am 27 with almost 4 YOE in TCS joining as a fresher. I have realised (late but yeah I did) that working in IT is not exactly my thing and I am entertaining the Idea of a career switch. I am currently preparing for bank exams like IBPS & SBI. Is this decision correct? Please drop your suggestions below 👇 that can help me out

See, that's absolutely your decision, you think about your family situations, your dependants, are you fine in relocating every 3 to 5 years when in bank. You might have to live alone in some remote places if you are a bank employee. You just think of all these things and take a decision. I too have gone through a similar situation and ditched ibps PO after clearing it and continued my corporate IT life and I never regretted it till date.

Hi, thank you for the reply. Yes I am ok with all these factors. I have done minor research about this and I am fine with that. A bigger problem for me is that I personally think IT is not meant for me & I want a change.

Don't leave job until you crack any exam

Mostly you will loose out on Salary. However if you are going to perform poorly in IT, then that would be the case here as well.

At least I'll have peace of mind there knowing I am not doing something I don't like and am bad at

Be prepared for the average salary as banking salaries are not like IT

At 27 I am not too sure it would be a good choice to opt for it?

If u want to go for it , go for it... POs live a much much better life than a TCSer ... u will have assured increments , will get to travel to places , will have another level of respect in eyes of person in front of u... No one respects a TCser nowadays not even our own management.. But remember Getting a PO seat wont be as easy as getting selected in TCS.. 😂😂😂...

Yes, I too think the same, in 4 years here I didn't had much of a crazy salary hike anyways.
