Career advice regarding Database administration Role.
Hi guys, My manager decided to put me in a new team of PLSQL optimization. In which I have zero knowledge and interest. I wanted to be in a java related project , but there are no java related projects in our account . Is it worth taking release and trying for other projects or staying here and learning Database things , if I stayed how would be the future in this role , like If I want to switch to another company?
Current experience 1 year , planning to switch within a year .

There are less chance of getting affected by ai in database role i think as long as client moves to platform as a service.there also ,sql optimization role is needed.sql optimization is a very challenging and enjoyable job.but you need to learn data guard,rac, goldengate, cloud databases, ms sql, postgres, mongodb and many many things.this is my view.others can differ.

I don't have any prior knowledge regarding PLSQL , how difficult it could be to learn and how would you suggest me to learn the concepts required in order.
It is just sql wrapped in some procedure.start with how to interpret explain plan, sql and pl sql tracing, context switching, indexing,sql hints,join tuning etc.if you know sql this shouldn't be much hard to learn.follow any good books in safari platform in tcs.
