Career Advice

Hi,

I just started my career as a SDE 1 but over the past few months there has been incidents that are making me feel a bit unstable at my current org. I was thinking of making a switch but the current package have set a very high expectation for me and my family, more so, because of WFH. Being from a lesser known college and having only ~ 5 months of exp, I don't think there are a lot of companies where I'll be considered. I'm on a lookout for open roles in top tech and want some suggestions on where should I look next. I'm looking for a more stable environment with as minimal of a pay cut as possible.

Given your experience, focus on companies with strong onboarding and growth opportunities. Look at mid-sized tech firms, startups with strong backing, or remote roles in established companies. Prioritize stability and work-life balance. You can also get help from platforms like LinkedIn, Indeed, or AngelList for your search.

Switching can be tricky, especially with high expectations. Consider upskilling in-demand tech skills and networking. Look at startups or mid-sized firms; they might offer stability without a huge pay cut
